Eclipse DPKG / Aptitude packages
- The current version of Eclipse listed in synaptic package manager is 3.2.2 but the newest version of Eclipse is 3.4.1! Implying that the package listings are becoming out of date. Is there a resistance to having eclipse on the repository servers or does the project just need to be attended to? -- LaunchpadHome:efillman <<DateTime(2008-11-10T16:42:03Z)>>
Resistance to Sun Java packages
- It seems that in many of the eclipse installation instructions in the Ubuntu community, the initial instruction is to use a Java runtime other than the Sun provided VM. Is that because of the Sun licenses? I always experience the best operation of Eclipse when I am using the Sun provided VM. -- LaunchpadHome:efillman <<DateTime(2008-11-10T16:42:03Z)>>
Eclipse Documentation??
- I followed the instructions for installing on 8.04 and the Eclipse IDE runs fine, but the help documentation is completely empty. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this, but without help files I don't know where to get help... kind of a catch-22 LaunchpadHome:gladfelter
