1. Install Ubuntu 9.10 Server
2. Update to the most current state in the Ubuntu archive:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

1. Update the time on your server using ntpdate

sudo ntpdate ntp.ubuntu.com

1. Install the following supporting packages on the server

sudo apt-get install euca2ools openssh-server ntp
