Install the frontend

Installing the frontend software is now very straightforward- A metapackage will properly setup a window manager, automatic login, and install the frontend.

$ sudo apt-get install ubuntu-mythtv-frontend

Include(MythTV/Install/Feisty+/Mysql_root) Include(MythTV/Install/Server/mysql)

Backend Configuration: mythtv-setup

Now it's time to run ~+`mythtv-setup`+~, which is used to configure the backend server. You need a graphical environment for this, so ~+`gdm`+~ was installed by the frontend metapackage. Start ~+`gdm`+~:

$ sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart

The MythTV splash screen will appear and you will be asked if you want to run mythtv-setup. Click OK.

Select your Language Include(MythTV/Install/mythtv-setup)

Include(MythTV/Install/Live/Feisty+/mythfilldatabase)

When The database fill is complete, the backend will automatically restart.
