如果您使用Intel的CPU，可以查阅官方的Ubuntu 9.04 安装指南。下面这个向导将指导你如何安装Ubuntu。另有一份更棒的 Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Xubuntu 的安装指南位于 http://linux.host22.com/1_5_Getting-started.html

大部分人只需使用标准安装过程。
如果你在安装时候出现问题或者需要其它安装方法，再参考另外的章节。

标准安装

Ubuntu的标准安装方式是图形界面安装。

安装Ubuntu需要兼容的硬件和安装光盘。下面几个步骤会帮助你。

检查硬件是否能运行Ubuntu，是否符合Ubuntu的最低安装需求。（参考支持的体系结构, Ubuntu:硬件支持和安装／系统需求)
获取安装光盘。 (参考获得Ubuntu)
下载光盘镜像后，把它刻录成光盘 (参考如何刻录Iso) 并确保刻录无误(参考安装／CD完整校验)。
用光盘启动系统，安装Ubuntu。(参考图形界面安装)

使用Alternate CD安装

如果你的计算机不能运行标准桌面安装CD，你可以使用一张Alternate 安装 CD 来代替. 这张 Alternate CD 将允许更多高级的安装选项，这是桌面CD所没有的。

如果你有一台 x86 计算机, 请参考安装／I386。这是大多数人所使用的。
如果你使用AMD 64-bit 计算机，请参考安装／AMD64。
如果你使有的是 PowerPC (Apple Mac) 计算机，请参考安装／PowerPC。
如果你使用 SPARC 计算机，比如一台 UltraSPARC T1 (Niagara)，请参考安装／Sparc。
如果你使用 Sony Play'Station 3'，请参考 PlayStation_3.

不使用CD安装

下面的列表将提供不使用CD或者CD驱动器的安装方法来安装Ubuntu。

SmartBootManagerHowto - 通过PC来安装，将不通过CD引导。
Installation/FromUSBStick - 通过USB记忆棒来安装。
Installation/FromCForUSBStick - 类似上面的但是使用的是grub。
Installation/WithFloppies -通过网络安装而不是CD。
Installation/FromHardDriveWithFloppies - 通过硬盘安装而不是CD或者网络。
Installation/FromWindows - 通过Windows安装，而不用软盘、CD或任何的可移动设备。
Installation/FromLinux - 通过已存在的Linux系统使用Ubuntu CD镜像来安装到一个空白分区。

升级安装

如果你使用旧的Ubuntu版本或者其它的Linux发行版，参考下面的帮助来升级到新版本的Ubuntu。

Installation/UpgradeFromOldVersion - 从旧版本的Ubuntu升级到新版本。
Ubuntu:WartyUpgradeNotes - 从预发行版本升级或者从Debian Woody升级到Warty Warthog。

服务器和网络安装

如果你喜欢通过网络或者Internet来安装Ubuntu，参考下面的不同方法。

Installation/LocalNet - 使用DHCP、TFTP和PXE从服务器安装。
Installation/Netboot - 另外的网络安装方法，不使用CD-ROM或者非引导的SCSI CD-ROM驱动器。
Installation/OnNFSDrive - 使用无盘工作站安装在NFS-server。
Installation/OnNFSDriveWithLocalBoot - 通过本地/boot安装到NFS-server上 (比如:作为silent media center PC从CompactFlash启动)。
Installation/OverSSH - 通过ssh安装在一个专用的服务器上。
Installation/WithFloppies - 通过软驱使用网络进行安装。

安装在外部或者RAID硬盘上

如果你喜欢将Ubuntu安装在外部磁盘或者RAID阵列上，请参考下面的指导。
