Community Wiki Proposal

I was attempting to go for some type of structure similar to what was proposed on WikiToDo/Organisation. This is just to give us a kick-start and to give everyone a sense of what this "could" be. • I can understand why you ask this, but I think not. For example, if I understand correctly then 'Internet' is a category of Applications while all applications, operating systems and daemons etc are part of the Software category. So I think we just need to define the term clearly and use it sensibly - I'm not saying I've been doing this, just that it would be a good goal and help others understand the difference. -- LaunchpadHome:duncan-lithgow <<DateTime(2008-09-12T22:50:31+0200)>>

The list below looks interesting, but I don't understand what it means. If the /s are meant to show that each is a sub page of the others, then I disagree strongly. (After some convincing) I am a clear believer that a flat naming structure should be maintained whenever possible. It would be silly to have no common page for Applications/E-mail/Evolution and Applications/Calendar/Evolution. Much better to have /Applications which links to /E-mail and /$others and /E-mail which links to /Evolution and /$otherSpecificApps. -- LaunchpadHome:duncan-lithgow <<DateTime(2008-09-12T22:50:31+0200)>> Tried to lay out the possible appearance of what the URLs might look like. Reallocation into above Needed

I don't see how these can be put into the table above. 'CommandLine' is a useful category, but it's not an application. Also I think that being able to ccall a list of all software installed by default, or commercial software, or third party software is useful, but also isn't a type of application. -- LaunchpadHome:duncan-lithgow <<DateTime(2008-09-12T22:50:31+0200)>>

Reassign and Retag
