What is Gnome Translate

[Translate] is a GNOME interface to [[1]]. It can translate a text or web page between several natural languages, and it can automatically detect the source language as you type.

How to install

[Fabio] has a made the packages for it. You only need to add the repository to your sources.list by:

gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

then add the following line an save the file:

deb http://gfabio.packages.free.fr/ ubuntu-hoary/

In Ubuntu 7.10 (gutsy), this package is available in universe and there is no need to alter your sources.list. Finally you need to update te repository and install it:

sudo apt-get update

and

sudo apt-get install gnome-translate
