Firefox, which is produced by the [[1]] project, is the default browser in Ubuntu. [[2]] also produce SeaMonkey an all-in-one browser & email client.
Installing extensions
Installing extensions, small extra programs to do extra things, is quite easy. Please see Mozilla's excellent guide [[3]]. Firefox extensions can be found [[4]]
Firefox and Ubuntu Security Policy
Ubuntu has a strict policy of no new versions of software in stable version of Ubuntu. Firefox is an exception to that rule, due to issues with backporting fixes. All supported versions of Ubuntu receive newer versions of Firefox.
