Status of various wireless networking cards wrt firmware.
Firmware files are held in /lib/fimware.
- Prism54: integrated into linux-source
- Broadcom: the bcm43xx driver is now shipped with ubuntu. You need firmware and can get it with the script: /usr/share/bcm43xx-fwcutter/install_bcm43xx_firmware.sh (which is provided by the bcm43xx-fwcutter package).
- TI ACX100: Firmware supplied with Warty Warthog, just works with suitable card. WEP supported.
- TI ACX111: Firmware supplied with Warty Warthog, I could not get to work. Other versions also available from Windows driver or other web sites. No WEP support through native drivers.
- Atmel: integrated into linux-source.
- ipw2[12]00 (Centrino): integrated into linux-source.
