Synaptic Package Manager is an easy-to-use software installer, which is verbose in its description of things like other software requirements.

Hints and Tips
- Uninstalling a piece of software will not remove other dependencies that may have been installed. Taking a screenshot of the list of dependencies (use 'Alt' + 'Prnt Scrn' to capture the active window) enables you to remove what Synaptic would ignore.
