LinRAD has to be either compiled or installed from a deb package. There is no LinRAD available through Synaptic. There is a deb package for 32 bit Ubuntu at http://www.nitehawk.com/w3sz/xlinrad-deb.htm For 64 bit Ubuntu, you will have to compile the 32 bit version for your architecture. There is a link on the above page to the 64bit instructions. LinRAD in that package is an X app.
